Planning a wedding in the mountains is about more than the views—it’s about the stories. At Echo Mountain, we’ve seen couples brave the snow, embrace golden-hour sunsets, and say “I do” under a canopy of stars. In this post, we’re sharing some of our favorite real wedding moments from Echo Mountain that prove mountain weddings are as magical as they are memorable.
Megan & Tyler: Snowfall & Vows at 10,000 Feet
When Megan and Tyler chose Echo Mountain for their winter wedding, they didn’t expect a fresh blanket of snow to fall just hours before their ceremony—but that’s Colorado magic. They exchanged vows outdoors in front of a roaring fire pit, with snowflakes drifting through the air and guests wrapped in cozy blankets. Inside, their reception featured pine bough centerpieces, seasonal craft cocktails, and a live acoustic guitarist.
Highlight: Their golden retriever walked down the aisle in a tiny bow tie.
Sarah & Drew: A Sunset Ceremony with the Continental Divide
For their summer wedding, Sarah and Drew timed their ceremony perfectly with the sun setting over the mountains. Guests gathered on Echo’s upper deck, sipping lavender lemonade as the couple said their vows bathed in golden light. The reception was laid-back and intimate, with locally sourced catering, Polaroid photo stations, and dancing under string lights.
Highlight: The mountain sunset lit up the sky in pink, orange, and purple—a photographer’s dream.
Amanda & Jordan: Après-Ski Wedding Weekend
Amanda and Jordan made their big day a whole weekend experience. They rented out the lodge, hosted a welcome bonfire the night before, and turned their wedding into a mini ski vacation. The couple, both avid snowboarders, even arrived at the ceremony in their snow gear—changing into wedding clothes inside before walking down the aisle.
Highlight: A first look on the ski slope, with GoPro footage to remember it by.
